Supervision provides a time and place for you to consider anything and everything regarding your client work confidentiality and transparently in a trusting, accepting environment, under the guidance of a professional code of ethics. This is a working relationship to suit your needs as a counsellor or supervisor, to always protect the best interests of your clients.
It is a time to also look at your own self awareness and to possibly recognise if there are any resolved issues in your personal life that could transfer into your client work. This could compromise your future therapeutic alliance with them.
Supervision is an ethical requirement where ethics, equality and diversity, boundaries and self-development are explored to enhance the therapeutic practice.
I work creatively as this can enable counsellors to work with subconscious processes which often helps movement on complex issues.
